AI Chat is your conversational writing partner inside Embellish. It lives in the right sidebar of your editor, and it's the most versatile way to get AI help — from brainstorming subject lines to generating full email drafts to getting feedback on something you've already written.
Getting started
Click the AI Chat tab in the right sidebar of any content piece. If you don't have a chat session yet, you'll see a prompt to start one. Click New Chat to begin.
The AI will greet you with three starter prompts to get the conversation going:
"What tone should I use for this email?"
"Help me brainstorm subject lines"
"Review my current draft"
You can click any of these or type your own message. Write naturally — the AI understands conversational requests.
Sending messages
Type your message in the input field at the bottom of the chat panel and press Cmd+Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows) to send. Regular Enter creates a new line, so you can write multi-line messages without accidentally sending them.
The AI's response will stream in — you'll see it appear in real time as it's generated.
What to ask
The AI Chat is flexible. Here are some of the ways people use it:
Drafting
"Write a welcome email for new subscribers based on my brief"
"Draft a cart-close email with urgency but not desperation"
"Write 3 different opening hooks for this email"
Brainstorming
"Give me 10 subject line options for this email"
"What angle should I take for a re-engagement email?"
"Help me come up with a story that illustrates this point"
Refining
"Make this paragraph shorter and punchier"
"This CTA feels weak — give me 5 alternatives"
"Rewrite the opening to be more personal"
Feedback
"Review my current draft and tell me what's working and what isn't"
"Does this email feel too salesy?"
"Is the tone consistent with my brand voice?"
Strategy
"What's the best email sequence structure for a course launch?"
"How many emails should I send for a cart-open period?"
"Should I include a PS in this email? Why or why not?"
Copying AI responses
Every AI response has a Copy button. Click it to copy the response text to your clipboard — then paste it directly into your editor, subject line, or wherever you need it.
Chat sessions
Each project can have multiple chat sessions. This lets you keep different conversations separate — one for brainstorming, one for drafting, one for revisions.
Creating a new session
Click the session dropdown at the top of the chat panel and select New Chat. A fresh conversation starts with no message history.
Switching between sessions
Click the session dropdown to see all your sessions for this project. Each session shows:
The session title
How many messages it contains
When the last message was sent
Click any session to switch to it.
Renaming a session
Click the pencil icon next to a session name and type a new title. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel.
Good session names help you find conversations later:
"Subject Line Brainstorm"
"Launch Email Drafts"
"Re-engagement Series Planning"
Deleting a session
Click the three-dot menu on a session and select Delete. You'll be asked to confirm — this action is permanent and removes the entire conversation history.
Tips for better AI conversations
Be specific about what you want. "Write an email" will get a generic result. "Write a nurture email that shares a personal story about my burnout experience and ends with an invitation to reply" will get something much closer to what you need.
Iterate, don't start over. If the first draft isn't right, tell the AI what to change. "That's too formal — make it more conversational" or "Good structure, but I want the CTA to feel softer." The AI learns from the conversation.
Use the context settings. The more context the AI has, the better the output. Make sure the right sources are enabled.
Ask for options, not just one answer. "Give me 5 subject line options" is more useful than "Write a subject line." You'll almost always find something worth using in a batch.
