Embellish is where you write your emails. Your email platform — HighLevel, ActiveCampaign, Kit, Mailchimp, or whatever you use — is where you send them. Exporting is the bridge between the two, and Embellish is designed to make that bridge seamless.
The big idea: clean HTML that doesn't break
If you've ever written something in one tool, copied it, and pasted it into your email platform only to find the formatting destroyed — extra spacing, missing bold text, weird fonts — you know the pain. Embellish solves this by producing clean, email-compatible HTML that survives the copy-paste intact.
That means what you see in the Embellish editor is what your subscribers see in their inbox.
How to export
The method to get content from Embellish to your email platform is copy to clipboard.
Here's how it works:
Finish writing your email in the Embellish editor
Select your platform from the platform selector in the toolbar (if you haven't already)
Click the copy button in the editor toolbar
Choose your format from the dropdown (more on this below)
Paste into your email platform's editor
That's it.
Your content — formatting, links, merge fields, and all — lands in your email platform ready to send.
Copying the subject line and preview text
The subject line and preview text fields each have their own copy button (the file icon on the right side of each field). Click it to copy just that field's text to your clipboard. A checkmark confirms the copy.
These copy as plain text — which is exactly what your email platform expects for subject lines and preheaders.
The copy confirmation
After you click any copy button, you'll see a brief green checkmark confirming the content was copied. It resets after a couple of seconds.
Tips for a smooth export
Set your platform first. The platform selector affects how your HTML is formatted and what merge field syntax is used. Setting it once saves you from formatting surprises.
Use the format dropdown. Different editors within the same platform (e.g., HighLevel's Design Editor vs. Code Editor) need different HTML formatting. The dropdown lets you match the target.
Test before you send. After pasting into your email platform, always send yourself a test email. Check formatting, merge fields, links, and mobile rendering.
Copy sections if needed. You can select specific text and use the floating toolbar's copy button to export just that portion — useful if you're updating part of an existing email in your platform.
