Embellish uses AI throughout the platform to help you write better content, faster — without losing your voice. But unlike most AI tools, Embellish doesn't start from zero every time. It draws from the creative context you've built in your Brand Profile and your project briefs to generate content that actually sounds like you.
Here's how the different AI features work and when to use each one.
Two ways to use AI
1. AI Chat
A conversational assistant that lives in the right sidebar of your editor. You can chat with it to brainstorm ideas, generate full drafts, get feedback on your writing, or refine specific sections. It's the most flexible AI feature — anything you'd ask a knowledgeable writing partner, you can ask here.
2. AI Commands
Quick, targeted actions you can take on selected text in the editor. Select a paragraph, press Cmd+J (Mac) or Ctrl+J (Windows), and the AI can rewrite it, expand on it, adjust the tone, or add inline feedback. Think of these as precision tools for refining content you've already drafted.
What makes Embellish's AI different
The key difference is persistent context. Most AI writing tools require you to explain who you are, who you're writing to, and what you're trying to say — every single time. Embellish layers context automatically so the AI always knows:
Your brand — Voice, values, story, personality, and what makes you unique (from your Brand Profile)
Your audience — Who they are, what problems they face, and what happens if those problems go unsolved (from your Audience Details)
Your rules — Writing guidelines and content-type specific instructions (from your AI Writing Guidelines)
Your campaign — The strategic context for this specific project (from your Project Brief)
Your content — What you've already written in this project (from selected content pieces)
All of this is assembled into a layered context that the AI uses for every interaction. The result: first drafts that are closer to final drafts, and suggestions that sound like something you'd actually say.
AI Credits
Every AI interaction uses credits from your plan's monthly allocation. Credits are shared across your organization — everyone on your team draws from the same pool.
AI Chat messages use credits based on the length of the conversation
AI Commands use credits for each generation or edit
You can see your remaining credits in your billing settings. Credits reset at the start of each billing period.
